What Is Moissanite, And How Does It Differ From Diamonds?

Moissanite is a type of diamond alternative that has been in development for over 50 years. It is made from carbon and silicon and is oftentimes more affordable than diamonds.

The emerald moissanite band is not a true diamond and does not have the same qualities as diamonds such as hardness, color, and clarity. However, it does have some of the same properties as diamond including durability and fire resistance.

Diamonds are the most popular choice for jewelry because of their durability and sparkle. Moissanite is a gemstone that is incredibly similar to diamonds, but has some important differences that make it a better choice for some people. For example, moissanite doesn’t come in any color other than white, and it has a slightly lower thermal shock resistance than diamonds. However, it is still very durable and has a very high sparkle factor.

Moissanite is a gemstone that is made from silicon carbide. It has the same chemical composition as diamonds, but it has a lower thermal conductivity, which means it doesn’t heat up as quickly. This makes moissanite better for use in rings and other jewelry where you want the stone to stay cool during wear.

Additionally, moissanites are harder than diamonds and don’t require as much pressure to cut them (moissanites can be cut with standard diamond tools). If you're interested in adding a little bit of luxury to your wardrobe without breaking the bank, moissanite might be a good option for you.
