How to shop for the best KN95 face masks, according to experts

The United States has officially crossed the line in the two years since Covid-19 was declared a pandemic, and the CDC recently announced new guidance on when Americans should consider wearing masks.

The agency's latest recommendations — which are based on community-level Covid-19 — currently place most areas of the country at low or medium risk, meaning most people no longer need masks, according to the CDC. Many countries have also completely removed the mask requirement. You can also check black KN95 face mask online.

In its guidelines for masks and respirators, the CDC further prioritizes respirators over masks — with an emphasis on proper fit — noting that they are better than cloth products.

Highest Level of Protection: Respirators that fit and are approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), including N95

  • Lower protection than NIOSH-approved respirators: snug-fitting disposable surgical mask and KN95
  • Less protection than non-NIOSH respirators and surgical masks: finely woven products in layers
  • The lowest level of protection (but still better than wearing no mask at all): Loose fabric products
